Class of 2012

New Step 1 study tool

Dear M2s,

I wanted to let you know of a new Step 1 Pathology review text entitled Fundaments of Pathology. The book is a succinct, high-yield text that integrates key principles from the basic sciences with pathologic and clinical findings. A unique features of this book is that it includes 40 hours of online videos that teach the entire text.

Dr. Sattar (the author) is currently working on getting the word out about this new book. A sample lesson from the text is present at the following link:

Golijan lecture transcripts

Hello everyone. So I was given the Golijan lectures in PDF format. If you would like them, please email me. I am not allowed to post em.

The pdf has the whole Golijan Pathology review for USMLE step 1, without the stories and quirky comments. Makes for a nice read to review.

Happy studying.

M1 Fall Quarter Calendar (.ics) File

In my attempts to procrastinate and avoid studying for a bit this
evening, I created a calendar for the remaining weeks of the Fall
Quarter for M1s.  Additionally, the calendar specifically pertains to
Group D, but you only need to move the two preceptor dates and maybe a
workshop or two for all the times to be appropriate for your group.

The .ics file can be found here [http://rmstudents.com/files/M1Schedule(GroupD)F08.ics].  There is a guide already on rmstudents to sync a calendar with Outlook, Google Calendar, etc. Enjoy!

Admin: You can automatically add the calendar to your computer's calendar by clicking here.

Clinical Immunology Final

This is a list of pretty much everything Dr. Lint said would be on the M2 Clinical Immunology final.  It's availble in MS Word format and PDF.  I take no responsibility for anything omitted or misrepresented.  Feel free to offer up corrections if there are any.

AMSA informational ppt.

You can find more information at www.AMSA.com.  The attached powerpoint is very comprehensive.

M1 Anatomy Dissector: 14th ed. -> 13th ed.

Hi All,

I bought the 13th ed. of Grant's Dissector, so I made a spreadsheet of the corresponding page numbers from the 14th ed. assignments (attached). Hope it can be of use to you guys! Also, I may have made stupid mistakes in typing it all up, so feel free to let me know if I did!

Ultimate Frisbee

If you are interested in playing Ultimate Frisbee:

There is pick-up on Wednesdays 6-8pm and Sundays 3-6pm. We play at Arrigo Park on Loomis St. between W. Harrison and Taylor. New players are welcome! We play year round, even through the winter! It is not competitive -- just a good time.

Also, check out Ultimate Chicago.  http://www.ultimatechicago.org/uc/index.php. This is an organized league and the play is more competitive. You can play in the fall, spring, and summer seasons. On this website there is information about other pick-up groups around the city.

I play pick-up and league. It is awesome! If you want more information, send me an e-mail katherine_garlo@rush.edu.
